5 ways to have fun as an adult

When we become adults, we are always told about responsibilities and constraints. Someone who jokes, laughs and has a lot of fun is called a “big kid.” As if an adult can’t have fun. I think that’s ridiculous, especially when you know that’s what can make you happier.

I consider myself very lucky. Indeed, my companion is this big kid, this human being who knows how to have fun and doesn’t need much to laugh and make people laugh. This is a trait I love about him. I am never bored and life is never dull and sad with him. They say that you have to laugh sincerely at least 3 times a day to be happier. I’m convinced of this and I’m glad it happens to me on most of my days.

But you don’t need others, on the contrary they should only serve to make you want to do more of the same.

  1. Explore your hobbies

Most passions can bring you excitement and fun. Take advantage of it since it’s what you like to do. Create your own moments for yourself or initiate your loved ones to make the activity collective. Sometimes it’s more fun in a group, so don’t be afraid to share all your passions and pursuits, as long as it feels good.

2. Dare to laugh at other people’s jokes

I have good humor and it feels good! A play of words, a line of humor or a few words of a song to react to a situation is enough for me. And I’m not ashamed to laugh at jokes that many people wouldn’t find very funny. So what? I’d much rather have fun, smile and cheer for the joke’s author than wait for the pun of the decade.

3. Get back to being a kid

What was fun for you as a kid? What did you like to do that you don’t do anymore because you feel like it’s not your age? Forget your prejudices and the way others look at you and try to look at the world again as you did a few years ago. Find some candor and naivety to see the beauty of the world. And if you find that the cloud above you looks like an elephant, that’s more than fine!

4. Take time to play

If you have children in your life it’s even more convenient. Invite them to play with you or offer to play with them. And even if you don’t have any near you, find time for a board game, an escape game, a game of video games or even role-playing to get away for a while.

5. Finally, do some creative activities

Many games rely on your creativity and imagination. To have even more fun, develop this aspect of your personality by doing activities that appeal to it. It can be drawing, painting, knitting, sewing, cooking, learning design software, photography, … There are many, it’s up to you to find the one that makes you want to do more than the others.
